5-ROX (5-Carboxy-X-rhodamine) is a rhodamine dye that exhibits strong fluorescence in aqueous buffer with an excitation maximum (λexit) at 580 nm (ε = 3.6 x 104 M−1 cm−1) and an emission maximum (λemit) at 604 nm (φ = 0.94) . It is highly photostable and widely used for biomolecular labeling and fluorescence-based detection.
