The α-aminoadipic acid aminotransferase protein exhibits broad substrate specificity, preferentially selecting aminoadipic acid, kynurenine, methionine, and glutamate as an aminotransferase. It also exhibits transaminase activity toward tryptophan, aspartate, and hydroxykynurenine, and accepts oxygen-containing acids such as 2-oxoglutarate, 2-oxohexanoic acid, phenylpyruvate, and α- Oxo-γ-methylmercaptanbutyric acid. AADAT/alpha-Aminoadipate Aminotransferase Protein, Human (His-SUMO) is the recombinant human-derived alpha-Aminoadipate Aminotransferase protein, expressed by E. coli , with N-6*His-SUMO tag.
