This protein localizes to mitochondria and is probably involved in mitochondrial translation or the biogenesis of the large subunit of the mitochondrial ribosome. C7orf30, also known asMALSU1, is a member ofthe iojap protein family. Itwas predicted to enable ribosomal large subunit binding activity. ItwasInvolved in negative regulation of mitochondrial translation and ribosomal large subunit biogenesis.
