Teneurin-3 is a large type II transmembrane protein belonging to the teneurin family, which plays essential roles in neuronal connectivity, cell adhesion, and developmental patterning. Structurally, Teneurin-3 contains a large extracellular domain with EGF-like repeats, NHL and YD-repeat motifs, and a unique C-terminal peptide sequence implicated in intercellular signaling. It mediates homophilic and heterophilic interactions that guide axon targeting and synapse specificity, particularly in the visual and hippocampal systems. Teneurin-3 interacts with latrophilins and other synaptic adhesion molecules to regulate synaptogenesis and neuronal circuit formation. Genetic disruption or altered expression of TENM3 has been linked to neurodevelopmental disorders, visual pathway defects, and certain cancers, highlighting its significance in neural development and disease.

This recombinant antibody is a chimeric antibody created by replacing the mouse heavy and light constant regions of clone N497/10 with chicken IgY heavy and light constant regions. As such this antibody retains the same binding performance as the original clone N497/10 but can be detected using standard anti-chicken secondary antibodies allowing flexibility for multiplexing applications. This antibody is expressed recombinantly in mammalian cells and then affinity purified from the cell culture media and conjugated.
