Arteannuic alcohol (Amorpha-4,11-diene-12-ol) is a precursor substance in the biosynthetic pathway of Artemisinin. Alcohol dehydrogenase catalyzes the dehydrogenation reaction of chlorogenic alcohol to produce artemisinic aldehyde[1][2].
