Brucine N-oxide

Brucine N-oxide is a natural alkaloid isolated from the seeds of Strychnos nux-vomica with analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity. Brucine N-oxide inhibits prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) in Carrageenan -induced rat paw edema and reduces 6-keto-PGF1α in Freund’s complete adjuvant (FCA) (HY-153808) -induced arthritis rat’s blood plasma. Brucine N-oxide can be used for research of diseases associated with pain and inflammation[1].
