Butyrolactone Ia is an inhibitor of NO production, with an IC50 of 18 μM. It suppresses the mRNA expression of iNOS and inflammatory cytokine IL-1β induced by LPS. Additionally, Butyrolactone Ia regulates autophagy (autophagy) in HeLa cells and exhibits immunosuppressive activity.
