C6 (6-Azido) gluCer is a lipid featuring an ω-terminal azide group. This compound acts as a click chemistry reagent with azide functionality, allowing it to engage in copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition reactions (CuAAc) with alkyne-containing molecules. Additionally, it can undergo strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition reactions (SPAAC) with molecules possessing DBCO or BCN groups.
