FKBP2 Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 122 amino acids (22-142 a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 13.4 kDa. The FKBP2 is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. FKBP2 is part of the immunophilin protein family, which takes part in immunoregulation and basic cellular processes involving protein folding and trafficking. FKBP2 is a cis-trans prolyl isomerase that binds the immunosuppressants FK506 and rapamycin. FKBP2 functions as an ER chaperone and as a component of membrane cytoskeletal scaffolds.

Specific activity is > 270 nmoles/min/ug, and is defined as the amount of enzyme that cleaves 1umole of suc-AAFP-pNA per minute at 25C in Tris-Hcl pH8.0 using chymotrypsin.
