G6PD activator AG1 is a small molecule activator of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PDH) with an EC50 of 3.4 μM for G6PDH459L that enhances the activity of wild-type and mutant G6PD. It reduces oxidative stress in cells, zebrafish, and human erythrocytes, making it useful for research on G6PD enzymopathies.
