GHR binds to 2 receptors, therefore it enhances signal transduction via dimerization of receptors. In elevated levels, growth hormone operates as an antagonist due to high variance in the binding sites affinities. The antagonist operation can be embellished even more when the binding site is reduced its affinity.GHBP Human produced in Sf9 Baculovirus cells is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 254 amino acids (19-264aa) and having a molecular mass of 29.4kDa.GHBP is fused to a 8 amino acid His tag at C-terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Functional Assay

Greater than 95.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

The GHBP solution (1mg/mL) contains 10% Glycerol and Phosphate-Buffered Saline (pH 7.4) .

Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) .Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.

Measured by ability to inhibit GH-induced proliferation assay using Nb2-11 Rat lymphoma cells in the presence of 1.25ng/ml of human growth hormone. The ED50 for this effect is equal or less than 10ng/ml.
