Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP)
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degree C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degree C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degree C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. FITC conjugates are sensitive to light.
Recognizes Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP). Assayed by ELISA for direct binding of antigen, recognizing wild type, recombinant and enhanced forms of GFP. Assay by IEP resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-goat serum, anti-Fluorescein and purified and partially purified green fluorescent protein (Aequorea victoria) serum. No reaction was observed against human, mouse and rat serum proteins.
