GTDC1 is ubiquitously expressed, with highest levels found in peripheral blood leukocytes, spleen, lung and testis.An extremely rare recessive genetic disorder, Alstr syndrome, is caused by mutations in the ALMS1 gene, which maps to chromosome 2.
