The keratins are intermediate filament proteins responsible for the structural integrity of epithelial cells and are subdivided into cytokeratins and hair keratins. The type I cytokeratins consist of acidic proteins which are arranged in pairs of heterotypic keratin chains. Unlike its related family members, this smallest known acidic cytokeratin is not paired with a basic cytokeratin in epithelial cells. It is specifically expressed in the periderm, the transiently superficial layer that envelopes the developing epidermis. The type I cytokeratins are clustered in a region of chromosome 17q12-q21.KRT19 Human Recombinant produced in E.coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 423 amino acids (1-400) and having a molecular mass of 46.5kDa.KRT19 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-Tag at N-terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Greater than 90.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

The KRT19 solution (0.5mg/mL) contains 20mM Tris-HCl buffer (pH 8.0), 0.4M Urea and 10% glycerol.

Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) .Please avoid freeze thaw cycles.
