Myogenin, is a transcriptional activator encoded by the MYOG gene. Myogenin is a muscle-specific transcription factor that can induce myogenesis in a variety of cell types in tissue culture. It is a member of a large family of proteins related by sequence homology, the helix-loop-helix (HLH) proteins. It is essential for the development of functional skeletal muscle.

After reconstitution, the Myogenin antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4°C. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

Optimal dilution of the Myogenin antibody should be determined by the researcher.

Western blot testing of 1) monkey skeletal muscle, 2) rat skeletal muscle and 3) mouse skeletal muscle tissue lysate with Myogenin antibody. Predicted molecular weight ~25 kDa, routinely observed at ~34 kDa.
