Ossamycin is a macrolide antibiotic with notable antifungal properties and a relatively weak effect against Gram-positive bacteria. In cell culture studies, it inhibits L cells, Epstein-Barr ascites carcinoma cells, KB cells, Sarcoma-180 cells, L-1210 cells, and HeLa cells, with IC50 values of 0.007, 0.008, 0.005, 0.008, 0.003, and 0.005 μg/mL, respectively.
