PCCA Antibody / Propionyl-CoA carboxylase alfa

The protein encoded by this gene is the alpha subunit of the heterodimeric mitochondrial enzyme Propionyl-CoA carboxylase. PCCA encodes the biotin-binding region of this enzyme. Mutations in either PCCA or PCCB (encoding the beta subunit) lead to an enzyme deficiency resulting in propionic acidemia. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

Aliquot the PCCA antibody and store frozen at -20°C or colder. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

The stated application concentrations are suggested starting points. Titration of the PCCA antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.

IHC testing of FFPE human heart tissue with PCCA antibody. HIER: steam section in pH6 citrate buffer for 20 min and allow to cool prior to staining.
