Source : E.coli. SPA17 Human Recombinant produced in E. coli is a single polypeptide chain containing 174 amino acids (1-151) and having a molecular mass of 19.8kDa. SPA17 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. SPA17 is a protein present at the cell surface. SPA17 was characterized by its participation in the binding of sperm to the zona pellucida of the oocyte. The central portion of SPA17 has carbohydrate binding motifs and likely takes part in cell-cell adhesion functions such as immune cell migration and metastasis.

The SPA17 solution (1mg/mL) contains 20mM Tris-HCl buffer (pH 8.0), 0.15M NaCl, 10% glycerol and 1mM DTT.

Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) .Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
