RPMI 1640 Medium

RPMI 1640 Medium (Roswell Park Memorial Institute 1640 Medium) is a basal medium widely used for the growth of many mammalian cells, such as HeLa, Jurkat, MCF-7, PC12, PBMC, astrocytes, and various carcinomas. Supplementation is required, most commonly with 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS) for cell culture use, and requires a 5-10% CO₂ environment to maintain physiological pH.
