(S) - (-) -Felodipine

(S) - (-) -Felodipine is a S-enantiomer of Felodipine. (S) - (-) -Felodipine is an antihypertensive agent. Felodipine is a 1,4-dihydropyridine derivative and a vasoselective calcium antagonist. Felodipine can prevent the activation of the vascular effector cells and interfere with the contractile process in vitro. Felodipine lowers mean arterial blood pressure by 20% in dog model. (S) - (-) -Felodipine shows high metabolic rate in rat and dog liver microsomes[1][2].
