Gamma-sarcoglycan is one of several sarcolemmal transmembrane glycoproteins that interact with dystrophin, probably to provide a link between the membrane associated cytoskeleton and the extracellular matrix. Freezing and thawing conjugated antibodies will compromise enzyme activity as well as antibody binding.
