Tymp catalyzes the reversible phosphorolysis of thymidine. The produced molecules are then utilized as carbon and energy sources or in the rescue of pyrimidine bases for nucleotide synthesis.

Freezing and thawing conjugated antibodies will compromise enzyme activity as well as antibody binding.
