The immunogen is a synthetic peptide directed towards the middle region of human UBE2L3

UBE2L3 catalyzes the covalent attachment of ubiquitin to other proteins.It mediates the selective degradation of short-lived and abnormal proteins. UBE2L3 functions in the E6/E6-AP-induced ubiquitination of p53/TP53.The modification of proteins with ubiquitin is an important cellular mechanism for targeting abnormal or short-lived proteins for degradation. Ubiquitination involves at least three classes of enzymes: ubiquitin-activating enzymes (E1s), ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes (E2s) and ubiquitin-protein ligases (E3s) . This gene encodes a member of the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family. This enzyme is demonstrated to participate in the ubiquitination of p53, c-Fos, and the NF-kB precursor p105 in vitro. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found for this gene.

All conjugated antibodies should be stored in light-protected vials or covered with a light protecting material (i.e. aluminum foil) . Conjugated antibodies are stable for at least 12 months at 4C. If longer storage is desired (24 months), conjugates may be diluted with up to 50% glycerol and stored at -20C to -80C. Freezing and thawing conjugated antibodies will compromise enzyme activity as well as antibody binding.
