The Cypress Urine 2AC reagent strip is an in vitro diagnostic medical device intended to be used for the semi-quantitative determination of Microalbumin, Creatinine and Albumin to Creatinine Ratio (ACR) in urine. The test can be read either visually or with the CYANStrip Mini analyzer. The determination of these parameters is intended to be used to aid in the detection of patients at risk of developing kidney damage. This kit is intended to be used by healthcare professionals in a laboratory-based testing environment.

Regular monitoring of Microalbumin, Creatinine and Albumin-to-Creatinine Ratio (ACR) is crucial in the management of patients at risk for or with established kidney disease, and they play a significant role in guiding therapeutic decisions and improving patient outcomes. Microalbuminuria is often the first sign of kidney damage. It is particularly significant in patients with diabetes and hypertension, who are at higher risk for developing chronic kidney disease (CKD) . Creatinine levels are used to evaluate kidney function. Since creatinine is produced at a relatively constant rate and is filtered out by the kidneys, its levels can reflect glomerular filtration rate (GFR) . ACR is a sensitive marker for early kidney damage, particularly in diabetic patients. It allows for early detection and intervention to prevent the progression of kidney disease. It helps in classifying the stages of kidney disease, monitoring disease progression, and assessing cardiovascular risk.
