The monocot type is represented by a rye shoot enlarged 10??. The dicot by a two-leaf bean shoot enlarged 5?, and the gymnosperm by a star-shaped fir leaflet enlarged 20?. Students can study root development, the methods by which the different plants sprout, and the structure of each type of seedling because each component of the model is removable for closer examition. The eight-piece model is mounted on a base and comes with a study guide identifying nine structures.
