TPK1 is a protein that exists as a homodimer, which catalyzes the conversion of thiamine to thiamine pyrophosphate.This gene encodes a protein, that exists as a homodimer, which catalyzes the conversion of thiamine to thiamine pyrophosphate. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized.
